things I thought would work

When I started this, I had pics taken of me. I am the type of person that cares what everyone thinks. I wanted to show myself I was serious about getting fit so I showed my vulnerable side and posted pics that no one has ever saw beside my husband, he don't count though( he says I'm gorgeous the way I am.) Yeah right! So, I pulled my belly out, cuz all my friends said you don't have 70- pounds to lose, you don't need to weigh 128, it's too skinny for you.  So after I posted those pcs, they all said, wow, I had no idea, and that I have balls for posting them. I thought of it as my motivation. Anyone willing to put themselves out there for the world to see has to be serious about making changes...right??? hmmmm. Lately I think about getting back on track and then I feel like what's the use. Nothing's ever going to change, I'll be this way forever. Yeah I know that's a self defeating attitude, but have you ever felt so defeated that you just give up? I think about jillian and what she would say, that used to get me motivated. Now I feel like I am my own worst enemy. I know I need to change. I can feel my body actually getting sick from all the sugar and pop that I haven't had in a while. When you're used to drinking 12-24 cans of pepsi a day, then quit for three months and pick it back up about 6 a day, it's too much for your system to handle. It's good to see that there is still support out there.

Changes

We're seeing changes every day.  I can tell now if something is not right in my diet, by the way I feel. If I eat something not good for me I feel awful. I have been craving fresh fruits and veggies for awhile. When I reach for processed swweets, they don't taste like they used to. They're too sugary and not as good as I remembered. My palate has changed. How's everyone else out there doing? I wish I could see a slimmer me, but I have reverted back in some ways to my old ways. I eat out about 2-4 times a month since the challenge ended. I have reintroduced pop into my diet and I don't eat whole grains like I used to. I can see that the inches I lost are coming back. I have to get with the program and get back to taking care of me. I will not let what I worked hard for go down the drain. So, yes I do admit my faults, but I also realize that I need to continue on my journey. comment and let me know what your challenges have been.

A new day

Today is a new day and this is a new start.  I am excited about getting out to exercise at the lake.  It has been too cold to get outside and now it's starting to get warmer.  I have to get used to going 3 miles at once.  The flying pig is on may 3-4.  Mike hurt his foot on saturday playing on inflatable playsets at a birthday party.  So, I don't know if he's going to be able to train or walk in this race.  I can't wait to see who won this challenge and see who the five are.  We lost a total of 28 pounds so far.  I haven't updated my trackers yet.  Is everyone still going strong?

Is anyone still out there?

well, don't know if everyone is still keepin on keepin on, but today is our regular weigh in day and here it is. Mike 232.4 Michelle 188.9. I am remaining positive in knowing I will reach my goal for my journey if not for anyone but me. I want to do the flying pig in may. How is everyone out there doing? Let me know.

Final weigh in and measurements

Mike weighed in at 233.0. He started at 248 for a loss of 15 pounds since the challenge began. He has lost fat overall. Where he lost inches he gained muscle.

Neck 1-3-08: 18 in  3-11-08: 18 in = 0 difference
Arms 1-3-08: L 14 3/4  R 14 3-11-08: L 14 R 13.5 = 1.25 inch loss
Chest 1-3-08 46 3/4 3-11-08 46 3/4= 0 difference
Waist 1-3-08: 47 3-11-08 47= 0 difference
Hips 1-3-08 45 3-11-08 45= 0 difference
Thighs 1-3-08: L 25 R 25 3-11-08 L 26 R 24.5= 0.5inch  gain
Calves 1-3-08: L 17 R 17 1/4 3-11-08: L 17.5 R 17 = .25 in gain
Michelle weighed in at 189.1. I started out at 200.2 pounds on 1-3-08 For a loss of 11.1 pounds since the challenge began. My original foal as stated in my first blog was between 12-24 pounds. I almost made my 12. My body has changed and I went down is shirt size from x-large to medium in some clothes.

Arms 1-3-08: L 11.5 R 12.5 3-11-08: L11.5 R 12=0.5 in loss
Bust 1-3-08: 45  3-11-08:  44= 1 inch loss
Chest 2-2-08 39  3-11-08: 38 = 1 inch loss
Waist 1-3-08: 43 3-11-08:42.5= 0.5 in loss
Thighs 1-3-08: L 24.5 R 26.5  3-11-08: L 25 R 26= .5gain in left and .5 loss in right for =0difference total
Calves 1-3-08: L 16.5 R 16.5  3-11-08: L 15 3/4 R 16 = 3/4 loss in left and 0.5 lost in right for =1.25 in lost combined
Overall inches lost= 4.25 inches

weigh in 9

Mike weighed in at 233.2 and I weighed in at 189.1. hmmmm. Frustrating.  I got a stability ball yesterday and am doing crunches at home as well. The kids are having more fun with it than I am. I can't believe there's only one more week left of the contest. I need to post progress pictures before then. How's everyone else doing? Drop me a line and let me know.
